PROJECT PANIC (WINGS)

Work on the wings starts by gluing & binding the presstuds to the ply tip ribs, The second half of the presstud fastens to a piece of ply that will be glued to the tip struts on final assembly.

The aileron servo's are fastened to ply plates ready to be glued into the cut-outs in the bottom wing.

Not forgetting to make a hole through to the centre of the wing for the servo leads.

Mountings for the flap servo are glued in position.

The ply tip ribs with the presstuds attached are glued on & the capping strips added to the rest of the wings to simulate a built up wing,

(This method of construction saves a lot of weight over a fully veneered wing & is perfectly strong enough even for the most aggressive flying style).

After the wings have had their fiberglass bandages added to the centre sections & the whole model sanded smooth the model is rigged

.

Checked with a tape measure to make sure everything is square & true & the tip strutts glued onto the ply plates holding the presstuds.

All control surfaces have ply hard points added to take the control horns.
